Still Life #10m-1 (detail)
This is a speeded-up version of Still Life #10m and lasts about 10 minutes.
The image-processing involves applying several different kinds of visual effects one after another so that each alters the original image, but also each in turn changes the way the previous effect alters the image. The processes combine to create the image you see.
In this example, it’s almost as if there are two films playing at once – the unmoving pitchers and bottles and the shimmering light that surrounds them. Our brains can’t process all that data, but light is shimmering around us all the time, constantly moving, the image processing brings that out, enhances, making it evident and beautiful.
These Still Lifes are a series of videos exploring natural light as it changes and moves over time. They are further enhanced using image processing. A still life is filmed over 2 or more hours as the sun travels on its westward path. Currently, there are 161 different Still Lifes.
